Delta Dental’s Smart Smiles® is an innovative program that provides desperately needed dental care to Boys & Girls Clubs members who do not have dental insurance or who qualify for Medicaid/FAMIS/Smiles for Children. In addition, all Boys & Girls Clubs members receive dental health education and hygiene instruction as part of their Club experience.

Smart Smiles was created through a unique partnership between Delta Dental of Virginia and the Virginia Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs in 2003. Programs are currently operating in Southwest Virginia, Richmond, the Virginia Peninsula, Charlottesville, Fredericksburg, and Martinsville with over 500 children and youth from these Boys and Girls Clubs currently enrolled in the program. Additional programs are being launched throughout the state with a goal of being in every Club throughout Virginia by 2011

Smart Smiles is part of a 501(c)3 organization with administrative offices in Richmond, VA. Local Smart Smiles programs operate at each participating Boys & Girls Club with on-site Smart Smiles program coordinators.
